Web Forms in school websites
Every school or district, no matter what its size, must periodically collect information from its students, teachers, and parents. There are several categories this information can fall into: applications made by those who are not yet a part of the school community, requests, usually made by teachers, for space, time or equipment, and various types of information provided to the school from parents and students.

Traditionally, this information was submitted on paper. Applications had to be picked up by candidates for enrollment or employment, and then submitted to the appropriate administrators. Teachers' requests to use a certain resource or space, say the computer lab, had to be recorded on a chart or in a book, manually maintained by an administrator.

Of course these processes all work, but they are not the most efficient and effective ways for schools to collect and manage the data they need for day-to-day operations.

Schools across the country have already discovered what a useful tool a website can be in disseminating information - whether it be notification of a snow day, information about school events, or syllabuses and homework for students' reference. Why not use this powerful technology to collect information as well?

When a school's website includes web forms, it is enabled to do just that. Data from prospective students and employees is automatically collected into a database, so candidates can easily be reviewed and evaluated. Requests for space or resources can be emailed to the appropriate administrator, streamlining and speeding up turnaround time for maintenance and support requests, and making the process of reserving rooms and equipment easier for everyone. Parents and students can easily give permission, information, or feedback, and that data can be easily viewed and evaluated by school officials.

When a school or district enables Educational Networks' Web Forms Package, our technical team creates the necessary web based forms, which can be emailed to one or more administrators' email addresses if desired. Every month, forms on Educational Networks' schools' websites have been submitted nearly 20,000 times - think of all the paper, time, and frustration saved!

The examples below are just a small sampling of the web forms that have created with Educational Networks' software.

  • San Ramon Valley Unified School District
This form is designed to make performances from San Ramon Valley school music groups easier for community members to request and easier for the music department to process.

  • Pope John Paul II High School Application for Admission
This form, complete with both mandatory and optional fields, lets prospective students apply for admission quickly and easily and allows administrators the opportunity to evaluate and organize the applications electronically.

  • Staten Island Technical High School Student Survey
This survey allows students to easily give feedback regarding their use of class time to their school and its administrators, making the learning environment that much easier to evaluate and improve.

  • Santa Margarita Catholic High School Logo Survey
This survey allows school community members to vote on which logo they prefer to represent their school - what better way to involve a student body than to make them proud of their school?
